Hey there, fellow mums-to-be! As I sit down to share my thoughts and experiences with you, I can hardly believe that I’m already in the home stretch of this incredible journey. Yes, it’s my final month of pregnancy, and I’m currently 36 weeks along. The anticipation and excitement are reaching new heights, and I’m eager to give you a glimpse into this last stretch of my pregnancy. In this guide, let’s explore some advice and tip from my experience to help you make the most of these last few weeks and prepare for the amazing adventure ahead.
I remember when filming a music video while pregnant was at the point where I just want to meet my new baby, it comes with its own set of considerations. From wardrobe choices that accommodate the baby bump to scheduling breaks for rest but I’am enjoying every minute of it. The joy of feeling those tiny kicks and wiggles has transformed into a near-constant presence. The baby is now the size of a papaya, and every movement is a beautiful reminder that a little one is growing rapidly, preparing for their grand entrance into the world.
As my body continues to adapt and accommodate the growing life within, I’ve come to accept the reality of pregnancy discomforts, Yes, there have been aches, pains, fatigue, nose bleeds which the last time I had a nose bleed was in my early teens. Sleep has become a bit difficult finding a comfortable position especially with acid reflux, it took me agers to sleep thanks to the dance party happening in my belly at all hours. Yet, there’s a certain magic in feeling those movements, a connection that words can hardly capture.
I made I sure to stick to a healthy diet and keep myself active during my pregnancy journey like walking. Admittedly, I’ve had to dial down the intensity of my workouts from what I used to do before becoming pregnant. The truth is, the energy levels aren’t quite what they used to be, and let’s be real, exercising in the later stages of pregnancy can be quite uncomfortable. Therefore, my fitness focus has shifted more towards gentle movement and staying active, as opposed to high-intensity workouts. It’s all about adapting to what feels right for me and the baby at this stage.
Take time for self-care activities, whether it’s a warm bath, a short walk, or moments of quiet reflection. It’s crucial to prioritise your well-being during these final weeks.
Heres a few wisdom tips that helped me get through my third trimester: I hope they can do the same for you.
Prioritising Self-Care: One of the key things I’ve focused on is self-care. Taking time for myself has become the top one on the list. Whether it’s a quiet moment with a book, a warm bath and I am loving Mama Must Haves Set, which take care of that cute bump. A simple walk in the fresh air, these little acts of self-care have helped me recharge both physically and emotionally.
Mindful Movement: While I might not be hitting the gym with the same intensity as before, staying active remains a priority. Gentle exercises like prenatal yoga and short walks have not only kept my body moving but also contributed to a more positive mindset. The benefits of staying active during pregnancy are truly remarkable.
Listening to My Body: As the baby bump has grown, I’ve learned to listen to my body more attentively. If fatigue sets in, I allow myself to rest without guilt. It’s important to recognise the signals your body sends and respond with kindness and understanding. As much as you want to get up an be on the go all the time it is still important to remember to listen to yourself.
Creating a Comfortable Sleep Environment: Sleep, as we all know, becomes a bit of a challenge during the later stages of pregnancy. Creating a comfortable sleep environment has been crucial. From supportive pillows to finding the right sleep position, these adjustments have made a significant difference in the quality of my rest.
Connecting with the Baby: Taking moments to connect with the baby has been a source of joy and comfort. Whether it’s talking to my belly, playing soothing music, or simply feeling the baby’s movements, these connections have strengthened the bond between us and added an extra layer of magic to the experience.
Preparations: As the due date is s near, my partner and I have been busy finalising preparations. From assembling the crib to packing the hospital bag, these practical tasks have not only kept us organised but also added to the excitement of anticipating the baby’s arrival.
Communicating with my Support System: Having a strong support system is super important. Regular check-ins with my partner, discussions with friends who have been through this journey, and the support of family have made the highs higher and the challenges more manageable.
Capturing the Moments: Recognising the transient nature of pregnancy, I’ve made an effort to capture the moments. Whether through photographs, journaling, or simply taking mental snapshots, these memories will serve as a beautiful reminder of this incredible journey.
Embracing the Unknown: Motherhood is a journey into the unknown, and I’ve embraced that uncertainty with open arms. Each day brings me closer to the grand adventure of meeting my little one, and I trust that this beautiful journey is uniquely mine.
