Hey my loves! I can’t believe it, my 35th birthday is right around the corner! It feels like just yesterday I was blowing out candles on my 21st birthday cake, and now here we are, time flying by faster than ever. Honestly, though, I still look (and feel) like I’m 25, my tips to young extra young- is great skincare trust me!
As I get ready to celebrate another milestone, I thought I’d share some tips for planning your own upcoming birthday celebration, whether it’s a big bash or a cozy gathering. For me it will be another simple cozy gathering with Family & Friends.
Set The Date:
- Make sure you set a date that works for you and your guest, for me I always like to plan in advance and making sure everyone is available.
Choose a Theme:
- If you’re planning a themed party, now is the time to settle on it. A theme will guide your decisions on decorations, invitations, and activities.
Book a Venue:
- If you’re hosting the party outside your home, book the venue as early as possible. Popular spots can fill up months in advance, especially during busy seasons.
- Send Invitations: Whether you’re going the traditional route with mailed invitations or opting for digital ones, four to six weeks gives your guests enough notice to mark their calendars. Make sure to include an RSVP deadline for easier planning.
- Plan the Menu: Decide what kind of food and drinks you’ll serve. If you’re hiring a caterer, this is a good time to finalise the details. For DIY parties, start gathering recipes and shopping lists for party snacks, cake, or other treats.
- Order Party Supplies: Decorations, tableware, goodie bags, and other party essentials can be ordered now. If you’re ordering anything custom, like a cake topper or personalised invitations, be sure to account for extra delivery time.
Start Planning:
As the party date approaches, you should start getting into the final details and making sure you are prepared for your special day:
- If you haven’t heard back from guests by now, it’s a good time to follow up. Knowing your guest count is essential for food and seating arrangements.
- Order Cake or Special Treats: If you’re ordering a cake from a bakery or planning for any other specialty desserts, place your order now. For those baking at home, start thinking about ingredients and practice runs if necessary.
- Organise Party Games and Activities: If you’re planning on games, entertainment, or other activities, ensure you have all the supplies and props ready. This is also the time to prepare any playlists, videos, or special presentations.
Final Touches:
Decorate: If possible, start decorating the venue or your home the day before. This will save you valuable time on the day of the party.
Prepare Last-Minute Food: If any dishes need to be prepared on the day of the event, make sure you have everything ready to go. Keep as much food preparation as possible to a minimum.
Relax: Take some time to relax and enjoy. After all, you’ve put in the hard work to make this event special!
Birthdays are a reminder to celebrate yourself and how far you’ve come. Whether you’re turning 25, 35, or 65, every year is a chance to embrace life, make memories, and surround yourself with love and laughter. I can’t wait to see what this year holds for me, and I hope these tips help you plan an unforgettable birthday of your own.
Happy Birthday Planning! 🎉
